Important Salary Details:
New recruits to the Civil Service joining MoJ are expected to join at the band minimum.
Existing Civil Servants applying on promotion, will usually be appointed on the salary minimum of the new pay band, or receive an increase of 10 percent on the current base salary, whichever is higher (This is restricted to the pay maximum of the new band).
Reserve List:
HMCTS run a Reserve List, where candidates who are unsuccessful at interview by only a few points, can be offered other roles, at the same band, for up to 12 months. You will be able to view your status via the application screen. If you have been added to the Reserve List, your status will show either Merit or Reserve list.

Job Description:
Provide operational ownership and influence throughout the life of contracts.
Employ Supplier Relationship Management techniques to support contract delivery
Ensure that the relevant HMCTS contracts meet their objectives and deliver the required outputs and benefits required.
Ensure that contracts are subject to review at appropriate stages and implement corrective action when needed.
Oversee the development and implementation of relevant and appropriate Contract Management Plans for HMCTS and ensure they are complied with.
Ensure that an effective risk management process is in place and monitored, and mitigation action is taken where required. This includes taking in to account any strategic risk to the department as well as shorter term contractual risks and issues.
Monitor reporting arrangements and receive, review detailed reports on relevant contracts.
Support existing mechanisms to ensure regular dialogue with delivery partners to promote problem solving, team working and risk-sharing.
Represent the views of the HMCTS contract management team at Strategic Relationship management meetings, deputising for the Senior Head where required.
Ensure operational contracts support court and tribunal performance and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Day to day management of the contract from an operational perspective
Responsible for providing timely updates of the Contract Management across all key contract areas
Ensure that contract outputs are delivered to quality, time and budget within agreed tolerances (SLAs), or reported/escalated where this cannot be achieved
Ensure required operational contract documentation is available to stakeholders and up to date
Regular liaison with Commercial Contract Managers to monitor and manage contract performance
Ensure with the commercial lead that risk management is in place including mechanisms to identify, manage, measure and report risks and mitigation are maintained (OCM needs to lead on this)
Ensure that operational performance is appropriately reported (and informed third parties have access)
Act as a central point of contact and source of information for operational stakeholders and end users (end users are primarily DTS product management but also other services that use the common component platform). This includes Intranet content and procurement bulletins
Liaise with the Commercial Contract Manager to provide co-ordinated reports to the Senior Business Owner
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in terms of the operational aspects of the contract
Draft proposals for operational changes for impact assessment and approval to be incorporated into the contract via the change control process, led by the commercial contract manager
Resolution of day-to-day service delivery issues with the client, managing expectations and meeting customer
Performance management of the achievement of qualitative and quantitative standards against mutual key performance indicators (needed for KPIs, in place for service levels, check commercial report)
Set up and review delivery of services against contracted processes
Set up the monitoring of contractor compliance with local and national regulatory and legislative requirements e.g. HSE, HR and Security
Escalate unresolved service issues to the Commercial Contract Manager
Assist the Finance Team to validate invoice received against services delivered
Set up and monitor assurance compliance with contractual requirements (via access to provider data, record systems, site visits, observing meetings and operational delivery)
Ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of supplier data entry and returns
And any other work required commensurate of grade
Skills & Essential Criteria:
Contract management and/or commercial experience with an understanding of the contract lifecycle
Evidence of leading continuous improvement and implementing business change in an operational environment
Extensive critical problem solving and issue resolution in a fast-paced operational environment
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Evidence of establishing and maintaining key internal, external and cross-agency relationships
Experience of projects involving procurement activity
Knowledge and understanding of the wider criminal justice system and its operations is desirable; Supplier Relationship Management experience is desirable
