Job Description: Senior Functional Analyst (Banking & Insurance)


We are seeking a Senior Functional Analyst to join a dynamic team working on innovative projects within the banking and insurance sectors. This role focuses on financial wellbeing solutions and mobile app enhancements. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring high-quality delivery and user satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:
Functional Design Mastery:
Lead functional analysis for information systems, including preliminary design and solution planning.
Analyze and document system functionalities, data flows, and technical impacts of changes.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with business analysts, epic owners, product managers, developers, testers, and external vendors.
Coordinate with technical teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of projects.
System Enhancements and Support:
Identify, recommend, and implement system improvements.
Provide support for system upgrades and resolve incidents effectively.
Analyze root causes for performance issues and incidents.
Business Impact and Insights:
Translate technical requirements into business language and vice versa.
Deliver impactful financial insights and develop new tools and features for the mobile app.
Documentation and Maintenance:
Ensure up-to-date and accurate documentation for all systems and changes.
Prepare technical rollout plans and contribute to feasibility studies.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in functional analysis within banking or insurance sectors.
Hands-on experience in Agile, SAFe, or Scrum methodologies.
Background in technically challenging environments, including big data, APIs, mobile frontends, and SQL.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and REST APIs.
Familiarity with system lifecycle phases and workload estimation.
Core Competencies:
Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented mindset.
Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
Ability to translate complex concepts into clear solutions.
Soft Skills:
Collaborative, adaptable, and goal-oriented with a 'can-do' attitude.
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
