Job Description

We are looking for a Data and Information Officer to join the Data Sharing and Access team at the Environment Agency.

You will:

Assist project teams and business areas in licensing data to our contractors and partners.

Maintain and develop our data sharing guidance, training and tools so that internal customers can seamlessly provide data and information externally.

Support work to automate aspects of our approach to licensing data.

This is an exciting opportunity to transform an essential part of how projects deliver environmental improvements.

You will be managing risks in sharing third-party IP, personal data and commercial confidentiality. You will ensure that we are meeting our obligations under the Reuse of Public Sector Information legislation.

The team

We are the Data and Information department of the Environment Agency. We are delighted to advertise this interesting and influential post. We provide Environmental Information online to millions of customers every year.

Experience/skills Required

You’ll need:

Experience of advising staff on internal processes
Examples of identifying opportunities, improvements to processes and promoting new ways of working
A proven record of working with teams and seeking advice
Examples of when you have provided advice and training about complex technical and /or legal processes

We are a national team and you will be able to work from any of our locations. Occasional travel, including overnight stays about once a month for meetings and away days, may be required.
