Role: DevOps Engineer

Location: Remote with 2 days per month onsite in London.

Rate: £450.00 - £500.00 outside IR35

We are looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimising our cloud infrastructure while ensuring the security and availability of our systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure that our applications run efficiently in the AWS environment.

You will play a crucial role in implementing disaster recovery strategies and maintaining high levels of security across our infrastructure. Your expertise will guide best practises and support the continuous improvement of our deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable AWS infrastructure to meet application needs.
Security: Ensure the security of the AWS environment by implementing best practises and compliance standards.
Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to minimise downtime and data loss.
Automation: Automate deployment and monitoring processes to improve efficiency and reliability using tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to optimise application performance and troubleshoot issues.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes to ensure knowledge sharing within the organisation.

Your Knowledge & Experience

2 - 3 years of experience in DevOps or related fields with a strong focus on AWS.

Proficient in scripting and programming languages such as Python or Bash.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practises.
Strong understanding of networking, security best practises, and disaster recovery planning in a cloud environment.
Previous experience working in an agile environment is preferred.

Engage in learning opportunities to share DevOps good practices, learnings and successes through show and tell or learning sessions.
