The Role
Channel Expertise: Leverage deep practical experience in one or more digital marketing channels to provide a view on target businesses' maturity and capability, such as:
Paid Search: Assess and optimise paid search advertising strategies (Google, Bing)
Social: Assess and optimise social (organic + paid) marketing strategies (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest) and influencers
Programmatic: Assess and optimise programmatic advertising strategies
Organic Search: Assess and optimise technical SEO, keyword, on-page and off-page (backlinks) strategies
Brand Marketing: Evaluate brand positioning, creative strategies, and campaign effectiveness
Email and CRM: Analyse customer relationship management strategies, email marketing performance, and lifecycle marketing initiatives
Performance Analysis: Review and assess the effectiveness of marketing strategies, campaigns, and tools, identifying areas for improvement, achievability of plan and opportunities for growth (i.e. headroom, ROI on investment)
Strategic Recommendations: Provide actionable insights and recommendations to enhance marketing performance, scalability, and alignment with business objectives
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with client teams, including marketing leadership, to gather insights and validate findings
Market and Competitor Analysis: Conduct research into market trends, strategies from adjacent sectors or competitors, and emerging tools or platforms relevant to the specific marketing channel(s)
Prepare Deliverables: Feed directly into concise, high-quality presentations and reports that clearly articulate findings, risks, and recommendations to end clients
Requirements
Specialist Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in one or more digital marketing channels (e.g., paid search, social, programmatic, SEO, brand marketing, email and CRM). Practical, in-depth knowledge of tools, platforms, and best practices within the chosen area(s) is essential
Performance-Driven Mindset: Proven ability to analyse and optimise marketing strategies to drive measurable results
Commercial Awareness: Understanding of how marketing strategies impact broader business objectives, including customer acquisition, retention, and ROI
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret marketing performance data and translate it into actionable insights
Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders
Client-Facing Skills: Professional demeanor with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, instilling confidence and trust
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, with a proactive mindset and the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
Diligence Experience (Nice to Have): Experience contributing to marketing due diligence processes for private equity clients is desirable but not essential
Tools Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in relevant marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Salesforce, HubSpot, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
