The Role
Tech Management/Delivery (50%)
Responsible for overall systems management and technical planning, technology roadmaps, projects and tasks.
Collaborate with IT leadership to define the long-term infrastructure strategy, including cloud adoption, hybrid solutions, enhance security and disaster recovery planning.
Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations and standards.
Project handovers to service delivery.
Implementing new technologies
Service Team Management \ Training (25%)
Work closely with other teams to ensure cohesive and efficient infrastructure solutions, communicating any technical issues, project updates, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers and other team members
Infrastructure Improvements evolving our environment (25%)
Collaborate with IT leadership to define the long-term infrastructure strategy, including cloud adoption, hybrid solutions, security and disaster recovery planning.
Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions that enhance performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations and standards.
Cyber Security experience knowledge.
The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer:
Serve as a key technical resource for architecting future solutions.
Manage multiple concurrent projects for both technical services and the broader business. Collaboration within cross-functional teams is essential, alongside strong project experience.
Uphold a “Security First” mindset, both personally and as part of a wider team, ensuring secure systems.
Act as a point of escalation for infrastructure-related issues.
Provide consultancy to clients and customers where required.
Experience/Skills Required
We are looking for an experienced IT Professional who has sound cloud knowledge of Azure, VDI and Security, Networking. The successful candidate should have a wealth of knowledge spanning various technologies and be able to use these skills to troubleshoot Cloud infrastructure and networking problems whilst ensuring that we are continuing to provide 5* service to our user and our customers.
Significant experience in a 3rd Line / Technical Lead Role.
Relevant networking, infrastructure, and Microsoft qualifications.
Microsoft 365/Azure: Managing Microsoft Azure & Office 365, SharePoint, Intune/Endpoint Manage.
Cloud: Experience with Azure and AWS
Security: Experience with MDM, MFA, Cyber & antivirus solutions.
Security Delivery: Cyber Essentials, CIS18, and experience delivering ISO27001.
Remote Desktop Services: Experience supporting and troubleshooting Azure VDI, AWS WS.
Networking: Network troubleshooting at 3rd line; supporting Cisco, Fortinet
Endpoint Support: Experience with Windows desktop, application, tablet, and mobile device support
Soft Skills: Effective communication, methodical approach to diagnosis and documentation, independent research, organisation and prioritisation.
