Job Specifications

To provide guidance and advice to ensure the Trust adheres to all Waste Management legislation including the Health Technical Memorandum 07-01; Safe Management of Healthcare Waste and relevant policies, under guidance from the Operations Manager (Facilities).

To communicate with all members of the Trust to achieve compliance of specifications and meeting set standards. To work autonomously as a Waste Manager

To maintain effective and efficient records of waste activity, observing varying trends and evidencing them to the Operations Manager (Facilities).
Communicate daily with all users regarding any variation in waste services that may be required. Using judgement to re-arrange priorities in conjunction and consultation with the Assistant Porter Managers when necessary to implement contingency plans as appropriate.
Understand and adhere to waste legislation and deal with complaints alongside the Assistant Porter Managers to ensure they are dealt with promptly and sympathetically, writing reports relating to incidents when necessary.
Prepare reports for the Operations Manager (Facilities) and analyse data to forecast non pay and service performance.
Conduct Risk Assessments within the department and take appropriate action ensuring safety compliance is met.
To prepare and interrogate complex financial information, and react accordingly
