Infrastructure Engineer
Reports To: IT Infrastructure & Cloud Operations Lead
Salary: £45,000-£55,000

Role Overview:
As a specialist in IT infrastructure and networking, you will be responsible for the provision, maintenance, and development of corporate IT environments. Your expertise in on-premise and cloud-based solutions will ensure business continuity, security, and operational efficiency. Through a mix of internal collaboration and third-party resources, you will drive improvements in IT infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the IT Infrastructure & Cloud Operations Lead in delivering secure, reliable, and scalable network and infrastructure solutions.
Manage and maintain corporate IT hardware, software, and cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance for both office and remote users.
Monitor and enhance corporate IT networks, including on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, with a focus on security, efficiency, and scalability.
Oversee cloud services, including corporate and cloud environments, ensuring stability, compliance, and business alignment.
Implement and maintain IT controls supporting relevant security and compliance accreditations such as ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials.
Work with IT suppliers and providers to ensure licensing compliance and value-for-money services.
Maintain IT security through proactive monitoring, threat prevention, and issue resolution.
Research and recommend new technologies for networking, servers, operating systems, and storage solutions.

Primary Objectives:
Ensure network and system stability meets business needs through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
Strengthen business continuity and disaster recovery through robust IT controls, external security testing, and internal validation.
Enforce compliance with IT policies, including incident and change management, minimizing risk to critical systems and business operations.
Optimize cloud-hosted services to meet current and future business and client requirements, enhancing efficiency and reliability.

Skills & Experience:
Strong experience in network infrastructure, security, and monitoring (Cisco Hyperflex, VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, Cisco switches, Meraki APs).
Cloud infrastructure management and monitoring (Azure, AWS, GCP, Azure DevOps, Docker/containerization).
Experience with operating systems and system administration (Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, Group Policy, endpoint management, antivirus solutions).
Scripting and automation expertise (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
