A long-term client of ours within consulting are seeking a Data Engineering contractor with a focus in GCP to join them on an important project.

In this role, you will design, implement, and optimise scalable data pipelines on GCP (primarily BigQuery), ensure database performance and data integrity, develop ETL/ELT processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, automate workflows, and mentor junior engineers.

Experience Required:

Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale datasets.
Hands-on expertise with BigQuery and GCP data services (Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub).
Experience with ETL/ELT pipeline design and data modelling best practices.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and mentoring abilities.

Important Details:

Up to £550 per day outside IR35
Fully remote from anywhere in the UK
6 months minimum with scope for extension

Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain PowerBI dashboards and reports. Ensure that the creation of new visualisations does not negatively impact existing semantic models. Develop and deploy dimensional semantic models and scalable dashboards with the help of developers. You will need the knowledge of warehousing principles in order to do so. Collaborate with the data warehouse team on backend development, and how they interact with frontend visualisations. Analyse and interpret complex data sets to provide actionable insights.
