LEAD DATA ENGINEER- BRUSSELS, BELGIUM - LONG TERM CONTRACT - HYBRID (SEE BELOW EXPLANATION).
Currently looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join my Brussels based client on their journey to implement and lead the delivery of a modern, self-service data platform, guided by the Data Mesh principle.
Main responsibility is to architect and implement the data platform infrastructure end-to-end, including data ingestion, processing, quality, lineage, cataloguing, security and observability layers. More information to be provided on an initial call.
In order to be successful with this position, you would require experience with Azure Cloud, Databricks, Data Mesh.
If you're local to Brussels, the role would be 2 days per week on-site. If you're travelling into Belgium, you would need to work 6 days per month.

- Dataiku specialist / platform engineer: Description of Deliverables: - Build and maintain our DS platform, Dataiku (including AWS deployment). - Define and implement best practices for Dataiku usage and governance (DSS, automation nodes). - Promote the usage of Dataiku and assist our citizen data scientists via internal channels. - Analyze, propose and implement improvement activities, with special focus on automation and standardization. - Oversee the activities of our dedicated support team. - Work with cloud, DBA, infrastructure and operations teams to ensure maintainability and usability of our DS workbench platform. - Collaborate with our Data science and MLOps teams to effectively move ML pipelines from prototype to production. - Collaborate with our data governance, data architects, data engineers and EA teams for larger data related activities.
