Project Overview:
Our client have an exciting contract opportunity looking for a data engineer to support part of an enterprise-wide migration into databricks for an energy client, working alongside both client teams and consultant engineers from Optima.
Duration: 3 months, possibility of extension past June
Inside IR35
Remote - There is the possibility of ad-hoc travel requirements if the client wants to e.g. run a workshop in person. This is extremely rare (almost never) and would typically only be 1-2 days. Expenses would be covered.
The majority of the ask will be creating data products/blocks/marts to serve out a specific business unit (several BUs in play here), some of which will be migration from legacy and some of which will be new capability built on already migrated data.
Must have
- Strong databricks, pyspark and spark sql skills
- Data modelling capability
- Ability to engage with client around requirements gathering and specs for new data products
