Applications Support Specialist (NHS)
Location: Hybrid (Occasional travel to Norwich)
Contract: 6 Months
Rate: £160 per day (Inside IR35)
Are you an Application Support Specialist with experience in the NHS, healthcare sector or Digital Health ?

We are looking for a talented Applications Support Specialist to join a leading NHS Trust and play a vital role in supporting and enhancing their clinical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 2nd line support for a range of clinical applications, ensuring optimal system performance and data integrity.
Act as a specialist and system administrator, liaising with suppliers and stakeholders to maintain, configure, and upgrade applications.
Assist with system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and deployment, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical workflows.
Monitor and manage application security, access controls, and user accounts.
Support the procurement, deployment, and implementation of new applications across the NHS Trust.
Provide audit reports and contribute to service improvement strategies.
Stay up to date with healthcare IT standards, for example: HL7, FHIR, and DICOM.
What We’re Looking For:
Technical expertise in application support, configuration, and testing.
Understanding of healthcare systems, clinical workflows, and data security standards (IG Toolkit, GDPR, Caldicott Guidelines).
Experience in software maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades within a large organisation.
Knowledge of database management systems (SQL, XML, .NET, Java, SOAP, API/Web Services).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
ITIL and/or PRINCE2 certification (desirable).
