With a new ‘challenger’ brand strategy in the works and an ambitious growth plan, we're on the hunt for a middleweight Video Editor to join our Creative Services team for a 6 month FTC to be a key player in driving how UW shows up visually through film, motion and sound design.

Here's the key experience, skills and competencies we're looking for you to bring:

3+ years of experience as a video editor, with a strong portfolio or showreel showcasing creative projects.
Experience in Adobe (emphasis on After Effects and Premiere), Figma, Google suite, Asana & Slack
Solid understanding of animation and motion design principles (e.g. 12 principles of animation, 10 principles of motion design, etc) and editing techniques (e.g. J-cuts, L-cuts, jump cuts, etc).
Proficiency in video and motion graphics software like Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
Strong experience in motion graphics and animation.
Attention to detail and a passion for storytelling through visual mediums.
Good understanding of visual effects and sound design.
Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, and delivery specifications for various platforms (TV, digital, social media, etc.).
Familiarity with wider Adobe Creative Cloud programmes and Figma.
Awareness of and interest in the latest trends in motion, sound and visual effects.
Self-motivated and a creative thinker with excellent collaboration skills.
Great commercial and business awareness.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.


This will be a hybrid role with 2 days per week in one of our London Hubs (Farringdon or Colindale)

This role will report to the Film Lead and work within our inhouse Creative Services team who produce a wide range of creative content for the Utility Warehouse team. You'll work closely with people across the business to ensure video and social content meets the brief and delivers the impact we're looking for.

As the Video & Social Content Editor at UW you will be responsible for:

Reviewing raw footage and developing engaging storyboards and timelines.
Editing video content for various platforms, ensuring brand consistency and audience engagement.
Creating and integrating motion graphics, animations, and visual effects to enhance storytelling.
Providing creative input and suggestions for video concepts, formats, and editing techniques to effectively convey messages and achieve desired outcomes.
Optimising video content for social media platforms, adhering to best practices and trends.

A Little More About Your Role Produce a comprehensive suite of design drawings for Grid and Primary substations. Prepare technical specifications for Electrical plant and providing associated electrical designs for the substation upgrades, and new substations projects from 11kV up to an including 132kV. Produce substation design feasibility reports, cost estimate, layouts, GA’s as well as the preparation of plant specifications that include transformers, switchgear and battery systems. Reviewing designs produced by suppliers and client to ensure designs are technically compliant and in line with current legislation and policies. Ensure designs are delivered in accordance with the contract to the satisfaction of the client and the specifications. Undertake the role of CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer for developed HV and EHV projects. Ensure that relevant Health and Safety risks and hazards are identified, made known to the project team and properly managed. Attend site meetings to support any design or requirement change during project build Ensure project design works are aligned with programme, quality, and margin. Actively developing external and internal client relationships. Experience of HV and EHV Plant specification, 11kV up to and including 132kV, design, load calculations and rating studies. Preparing specifications for HV and EHV substation equipment including the evaluation and identification of plant accessories such as CT’s, battery systems and terminations. What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate Minimum qualification HNC Electrical Engineering Exposure to substation cable design and protection and control. Experience of small, medium and technically complex new substation, retrofit or network reinforcement projects. Proven experience in HV and EHV substation design (both AIS & GIS), from 11kV up to and including 132kV. Knowledge of engineering standards and technical policies for HV and EHV plant, substations (including earthing and electrical clearances). An ability to interpret technical documentation relating to the design of electrical substations. Design cost estimation experience. Excellent understanding of the H&S and CDM requirements and an ability to undertake the role of ‘Designer’ and ‘Principal Designer’ under the CDM regulations.
