About Zego
At Zego, we understand that traditional motor insurance holds good drivers back. It's too complicated, too expensive, and it doesn't reflect how well you actually drive. Since 2016, we have been on a mission to change that by offering the lowest priced insurance for good drivers.

From van drivers and gig workers to everyday car drivers, our customers are the driving force behind everything we do. We've sold tens of millions of policies and raised over $200 million in funding and picked up numerous awards, including the Insurance Claims Team Of The Year 2024 as awarded at The Insurance Post's Claims & Fraud Awards. And we're only just getting started.
Purpose of the role
We're looking for a proactive and analytical Claims Data Analyst to help us enhance our Claims and Fraud operations, shaping one of the most vital areas of the insurance industry.
As part of a fast-growing, product-led tech company, you'll play a key role in driving impactful change within our rapidly scaling Claims team. Your insights will power strategic decision-making, improve efficiency, and uncover opportunities for continuous improvement. Expect to work on developing insightful reports and dashboards, collaborating closely with Claims and Fraud teams, and delivering data-backed recommendations to leadership and stakeholders across the business.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, data-centric environment and are eager to make a real difference in the evolution of claims operations, we'd love to hear from you!
What you will be doing
Design & build core data models and reporting to support Claims and Fraud operations
Develop key reports for senior stakeholders, including Zego leadership, investors, and insurance partners
Analyze performance & identify trends, uncovering key drivers to optimise processes
Spot and size opportunities for continuous improvement, tracking the impact of initiatives
Support strategic decision-making for the Claims and Fraud leadership team
Translate data into compelling stories—delivering actionable insights to senior management
Collaborate cross-functionally, supporting Claims, Fraud, Pricing, and external reporting needs

What you will need to be successful
Got a degree? Great! If not, equivalent experience works too (bonus points if it's in a STEM subject)
SQL Skills - You know your way around data extraction and manipulation like a pro
Power BI Expertise - You've built data models, reports, and dashboards before and can turn raw numbers into something meaningful
Data Storytelling - You can take complex insights and turn them into clear, engaging stories that senior stakeholders (think senior managers, investors, Zego's board, and insurance partners) actually understand
Insurance Know-How (Nice to have!) - If you understand the motor insurance market and what drives commercial performance, that's a big plus
Claims & Financial Acumen (Nice to have!) - Familiarity with claims processes, reserving, and settlements? Even better
Actuarial & Reserving Knowledge (Nice to have!) - If you can be the go-to person between Claims, Fraud, and Actuarial teams, we'd love to have you on board!

What's it like to work at Zego?

We're spread throughout the UK and Europe, and united by our drive to get things done. We're proud of our company and our culture - a friendly and inclusive space where we can lift each other up and celebrate our wins every day.

You'll work alongside a talented group who embrace each other's differences and aren't afraid of a challenge. We recognise our achievements, learn from our mistakes, and help each other to be the best we can be. Together, we're making insurance matter.
How we work
We believe that teams work better when they have time to collaborate and space to get things done. We call it Zego Hybrid.
Our hybrid way of working is unique. We foster a flexible approach that empowers every Zegon to perform at their best. We ask you to spend at least one day a week in our central London office (next to Liverpool Street). We cover the costs for all company-wide events (3 per year), and also provide a separate hybrid contribution to help pay towards other travel costs. We think it's a good mix of collaborative face time and flexible home-working, setting us up to achieve the right balance between work and life.
Benefits
We reward our people well. Join us and you'll get a market-competitive salary, private medical insurance, company share options, generous holiday allowance, and a whole lot of wellbeing benefits. And that's just for starters.
