Position Summary
A leading organisation undergoing a major business transition is seeking a Business Analyst to support infrastructure carve-out projects. This role will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) in IT infrastructure, focusing on Security, Mail, Active Directory (AD), ITSM, and other key systems. The Business Analyst will play a critical role in gathering requirements, producing technical documentation, and supporting the planning and execution of the carve-out strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to identify and document technical and business requirements for infrastructure carve-out projects.
Conduct detailed analysis of existing systems, dependencies, and integration points.
Ensure all requirements align with business goals and technical feasibility.
Technical Documentation & Artefact Creation
Develop technical specifications, diagrams, and process flows in collaboration with SMEs.
Produce artefacts such as data flow diagrams, system architecture blueprints, and risk assessments.
Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for stakeholder alignment.
Infrastructure & Security Support
Work with infrastructure SMEs to map dependencies for migrations, particularly for Mail, Active Directory (AD), and associated systems.
Document security requirements and ensure they are incorporated into project planning.
Assess and document the impact of carve-out activities on infrastructure environments.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a liaison between business teams and technical teams to ensure alignment.
Facilitate workshops and meetings to clarify requirements and validate solutions.
Support project managers in tracking timelines and milestones.
Quality Assurance & Risk Management
Review and validate artefacts to ensure they meet technical standards and project objectives.
Identify potential risks and challenges, proposing mitigation strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Skills
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in IT infrastructure projects, especially carve-out or migration projects.
Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies (Mail systems, AD, security frameworks, ITSM).
Ability to create detailed technical specifications and documentation.
Familiarity with security principles, compliance, access controls, and data protection.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
Experience in infrastructure carve-out or separation projects.
Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
Experience using Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools for technical diagrams.
Awareness of ITIL frameworks and best practices.
