Position Summary
A leading organisation undergoing a major business transition is seeking a Business Analyst to support infrastructure carve-out projects. This role will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) in IT infrastructure, focusing on Security, Mail, Active Directory (AD), ITSM, and other key systems. The Business Analyst will play a critical role in gathering requirements, producing technical documentation, and supporting the planning and execution of the carve-out strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to identify and document technical and business requirements for infrastructure carve-out projects.
Conduct detailed analysis of existing systems, dependencies, and integration points.
Ensure all requirements align with business goals and technical feasibility.

Technical Documentation & Artefact Creation
Develop technical specifications, diagrams, and process flows in collaboration with SMEs.

Job Purpose:
The Project Manager (ERP/Finance Systems) will lead and manage a critical divestment project, overseeing the separation and migration of business platforms, including Microsoft Business Central and the strategic consolidation and reporting solution, while ensuring smooth execution of the Target Operating Model (TOM) development. The role will encompass managing all aspects of platform separation, data migration, user journeys, and the change impact analysis required for successful transition. The Project Manager will also be responsible for developing and managing detailed test plans and leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
This position requires deep experience in managing IT transformation projects, specifically within divestments or business separations, and a strong understanding of TOM development, ERP/CRM platforms, and end-to-end project management.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Execution:
Lead the end-to-end divestment project, ensuring timely delivery of all activities related to the separation of finance systems such as Microsoft Business Central, OneStream and local finance systems.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, resource allocations, key milestones, risks, and dependencies.
Ensure alignment with business and technology teams on project objectives and deliverables, reporting regularly to senior leadership and the divestment steering committee.
2. Target Operating Model (TOM) Development:
Oversee the design and implementation of the Target Operating Model (TOM) for the divested entity, ensuring the future business platform and process architecture is fit for purpose.
Work closely with business analysts, solution architects, and key stakeholders to translate TOM requirements into actionable project tasks and milestones.
Ensure TOM development aligns with the strategic vision for the divested business and delivers operational efficiency.
3. Business Platforms and Application Migration:
Manage the separation of applications (e.g., Microsoft Business Central, reporting tools and local systems) from the parent company’s environment, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Lead the technical and business teams in migrating platforms and data, while maintaining clear communication between IT, vendors, and business stakeholders.
Oversee the transition of applications, ensuring compliance with licensing, data security, and performance requirements in the new environment.

4. Data Migration Strategy:
Develop and manage a data migration plan that ensures accurate, compliant, and secure migration of business-critical data.
Coordinate with data teams and business units to execute data mapping, transformation, and validation.
Ensure that data cleansing and integrity checks are conducted, and all migrated data meets business and legal requirements.
5. User Journey Design and Experience:
Oversee the development of optimized user journeys for the new platform and processes, ensuring user-centric design principles are followed.
Engage with business stakeholders to identify key user interactions, ensuring the transition minimizes disruption and enhances user experience.
Collaborate with user experience teams to refine business workflows in Microsoft Business Central and other critical applications.
6. TOM Change Impact Analysis:
Conduct and manage change impact analysis to assess how the new TOM will affect current business processes, systems, and user roles.
Develop mitigation plans for any identified risks or challenges related to the business separation.
Facilitate stakeholder discussions to ensure that all operational impacts are understood and addressed within the project plan.
7. Test Plans and UAT Management:
Develop comprehensive test plans for all aspects of the platform separation and migration, covering functional, integration, and data migration testing.
Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT):
Establish UAT objectives, success criteria, and test schedules in collaboration with business stakeholders.
Manage the execution of UAT cycles, ensuring that business users are engaged in the process and that test results are thoroughly documented.
Track and resolve issues discovered during UAT, ensuring they are resolved ahead of the cutover.
8. Stakeholder Management and Communication:
Act as the key point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the divestment project, including business leaders, IT teams, third-party vendors, and external consultants.
Provide regular project updates, risk assessments, and milestone reports to senior management and the divestment steering committee.
Facilitate workshops, steering meetings, and stakeholder interviews to ensure continuous alignment between business objectives and project execution.
9. Risk and Issue Management:
Identify and manage risks related to platform separation, data migration, TOM development, and UAT.
Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risk and ensure smooth execution of the project.
Track project issues and manage escalation processes to ensure that critical blockers are resolved quickly.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Accountancy, Project Management, or a related field
Professional certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile are highly desirable.
Experience:
7+ years of experience managing Finance technology change projects, particularly those involving business platform migrations and TOM development within the context of divestments or mergers.
Proven track record of managing large-scale, global ERP implementations ideally involving Microsoft Business Central.
Demonstrable experience managing data migration projects, including developing migration plans and ensuring data integrity post-migration.
Strong background in leading UAT cycles, test plan development, and defect resolution.
Previous experience with change impact analysis and implementing Target Operating Models (TOM) in complex business transformations.

Job Purpose:
The Senior Business Analyst (BA) will play a key role in supporting the divestment process by driving the development of the Target Operating Model (TOM), leading the Finance platform separations, and managing critical aspects such as data migration, user journeys, change impact analysis, and testing management. The Snr BA will act as a bridge between the business and IT teams, ensuring that the separated entity’s business platforms (ERPs, local feeder systems and reporting/consolidation tools) are properly transitioned, while focusing on user experience, operational impacts, and UAT execution.
This role requires a blend of technical and operational business expertise, significant functional knowledge of Finance Systems with a particular focus on TOM development, divestment planning, and managing the end-to-end migration and testing of applications and business processes.

6. Testing Plans and UAT Management:
Develop comprehensive test plans to ensure that applications, data, and business processes are successfully migrated and operational in the new environment.
Manage the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process:
Define UAT scope, objectives, and criteria for success in collaboration with business stakeholders.
Organize UAT cycles, ensuring that end-users are involved in testing key business processes and application functionality.
Track and resolve issues identified during UAT, ensuring that defects are addressed and changes are properly validated before go-live.
7. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors, facilitating clear communication of requirements, project milestones, and risks.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
Education:

Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar qualifications are advantageous.
Experience:
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with significant exposure to TOM development and application separation in divestment, merger, or acquisition scenarios.
Proven experience with ERPs such as Dynamics 365 / Business Central including implementation, migration, and user experience design.
Strong experience in data migration projects, including data mapping, transformation, and validation.
Demonstrated ability to manage UAT and develop detailed test plans.
