What you'll be doing
As the IT DevOps Engineer, you will use enhanced engineers' tools and technology stacks for improved application performance and lead on comprehensive technical projects and support including design, installation, automation, monitoring, and alerting. In addition to this, you will be responsible for the following:
Solutionise and troubleshoot environmental issues across all systems and application stacks supported by the DevOps team.
Mentor team members on open-source technologies.
Design and implement IT projects, ensuring adherence to approved scopes.
Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and translate requirements into technical solutions.
Manage Linux systems and services, balancing performance, cost, and sustainability.
Provide direction and support to team members, fostering effective communication.
Conduct training and guidance to enhance team capabilities.

What you need to show us
The successful IT DevOps Engineer will be working in a hands-on role will be responsible for Commercial/Customer facing projects so you will need to have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical requirements to business stakeholders. In addition, you will be an enthusiastic IT DevOps Engineer that is used to working within a fast-paced organisation. The successful candidate will need to possess the following skills/experience:
Relevant professional qualification.
Familiarity with automation/configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is essential.
Extensive experience in Linux technologies and consulting.
Proficiency in Kubernetes, containerization, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git)
Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python.
Experience with web services (Apache/Tomcat) and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Familiarity with database administration (MongoDB, MySQL).
Knowledge of network and communications automation.
Ability to work independently while managing complex projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective communication.
