Job Description :
To perform day to day Storage & Backup Administration.
The role will also provide opportunities to assist with project and transition work as required. We are looking to employ someone with an aptitude for Infrastructure support, keen to expand their skills in Storage, Backup and SAN support. Someone who can work in a busy and challenging environment, with a proven track record in day-to-day support and project work, delivering to high quality standards. On-Call and overtime as required
Your Role
BAU support of the SAN environment,
BAU support of the Backup environment,
Performing daily checks,
Storage allocation/deallocation,
SAN switch zoning,
Firmware upgrades,
Managing Backups (end to end configuration, rerunning failed backups)
Tape Management/Rotation
Maintaining documentation,
Producing management reports
Implementing changes according to client change management process,
Problem management/resolution using SNOW,
Disaster recovery testing.
Your Profile
HP and EMC Storage
Brocade and Cisco SAN switches
Storage Management software skills
Familiarity with SAN Switch Management commands (Brocade, and Cisco)
Familiarity with Veritas Netbackup
Familiarity with SNOW Incident and Change Management
An understanding of EMC Networker and HP Data Protector
A keen team player prepared to work alongside more experienced members of the team and embrace new technologies and skills.
The successful applicant will be expected to investigate storage problems on EMC storage with Brocade or Cisco SAN switches, as well as ensuring successful backups are taken, so a methodical approach to problem determination is crucial.

All applicants MUST hold a GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice in the UK. Duties And Responsibilities- Indicative Job Plan Monday All day elective spin clinic. There is a weekly lunchtime clinical/radiology MDT which all consultants and trainees attend which includes aspects of audit and governance. Tuesday Am spinal clinic / pm SPA/audit research Wednesday All day theatre – elective and emergency Thursday (am) Injection lists – ad hoc Thursday (pm) Friday All day theatre – elective and emergency Independent Operating and clinic arrangements may be worked flexibly to fit in with spare operating capacity. No out-of-hours on-call commitments would be required. Extra sessions may be undertaken by mutual agreement. Over the last 20 years spinal surgery has become an important part of the treatment of spinal cord injured patients at the National Spinal Cord Injuries Centre where the overall management of acute cases is undertaken by specialised spinal rehabilitation consultants. Spinal surgery in these cases is highly complex and often performed as dual consultant. Late reconstructive surgery following trauma, paralytic scoliosis and charcot spine are some examples. NSIC is the only centre that treats children and are World leaders in the management of spinal cord injury in this age range. The Fellow will be involved in the daytime on-call spinal rota with back-up of a Consultant. There is no formal out-of-hours commitment.
