Manufacturing System Integration Engineer – Manufacturing & Business Systems & Quality Systems
We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking system integration engineer to oversee the implementation, management, and optimisation of MRP (Material Requirements Planning), MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, and IT infrastructure. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth integration across all business systems to enhance efficiency, support manufacturing processes, and enable data-driven decision-making. You will play a key role in maintaining the organisation’s digital infrastructure, ensuring seamless system functionality and alignment with operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation, integration, and maintenance of MRP, MES, ERP, and IT systems to improve efficiency and support business growth.
Work closely with teams across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and production to ensure systems align with operational needs.
Oversee system interfaces, ensuring seamless data exchange between platforms for accurate reporting and analytics.
Conduct system audits and performance reviews to identify areas for improvement and drive enhancements.
Develop and maintain documentation, including workflows, user manuals, and best practice guides.
Troubleshoot MRP, MES, ERP, and IT-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Train and support staff to ensure they are proficient in using integrated business systems.
Ensure data integrity within all systems, enabling accurate reporting and performance tracking.
Collaborate with external vendors to maintain system compatibility, security, and performance.
Stay up to date with new technologies and best practices in system integration, manufacturing software, and IT infrastructure.
Assist in the implementation of cybersecurity measures to safeguard business systems and data.
Contribute to cross-departmental initiatives, ensuring that business systems effectively support wider organisational objectives.
Provide regular reports on system performance, uptime, and key operational metrics.
Qualifications
A degree in computer science, information technology, systems engineering, or a related field.
Experience in system integration, with a focus on MRP, MES, and ERP systems in a manufacturing setting.
Strong knowledge of IT systems, databases, and manufacturing software tools.
A solid understanding of business processes, particularly within manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and production operations.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), MES software (e.g. Tulip), and MRP tools.
Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and best practices for IT and manufacturing systems.
Strong communication and training abilities, ensuring effective collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience working in manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their application in system integration.
Certification in system integration or project management (e.g. PMP, ITIL).
