Alexander Ash are currently working with a global consulting firm who are looking for a Senior Linux/Unix Engineer (HPC) to join their multi-disciplinary team.
This is an exciting opportunity for any Senior Linux Engineer (HPC) to join a team of skilled and experienced consultants and seek to identify improvements and efficiencies, while utilising new technologies and existing tools as the organisation takes on one of it's biggest bodies of work.
Responsibilities/Skillset
Focus on the build, assembly, and provisioning, of a high-performance Linux estate, with optimising cutting-edge compute, storage, network, and data centre technology.
Specifically, interested in individuals with strong automated build and provisioning skills on bare metal, at scale, using Packer, Cobbler, Ironic, Pixie and the Open Stack.
Optimise storage performance using high-speed SSDs, NVMe drives, and custom data structures tailored for HPC data access
This is on a rolling contract basis with a hybrid work pattern

Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: • Significant experience in large multinational companies, preferably within Financial Services • In-depth knowledge and experience of M365 Purview administration including Data Retention, Data Deletion, Legal Holds, IAR Holds, Modern Attachments and Compliance Boundaries (across multiple datasets in M365 e.g. Sharepoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online etc) • An understanding of how eDiscovery within M365 Purview works, including performance considerations. • Experience of Keyword Query Language (KQL) for eDiscovery is advantageous. • Experience with Enterprise Vault on-premises deployment is advantageous. • Ability to communicate complex ideas simply, using presentations and other comms artefacts. • Ability to articulate complex technical issues concisely. • Experience working with Regulators, Compliance functions, and legal teams is desired. • Knowledge and experience of using agile delivery methods and tools. • Commercially astute, ability to balance and assess risk vs. reward. • Respectful of different cultures, working with colleagues from across the globe. • Good leadership skills.
