Senior Compensation & People Analytics Manager
Job Description
At Matter Labs, we believe freedom drives progress and prosperity. We don’t see ourselves as a company, but as a team aligned around a single mission: to advance personal freedom for all (see ZK Credo).

To achieve this goal, we’re building zkSync — a credibly neutral, fully open source technology stack and network on top of Ethereum, which is owned and governed by its community. We use advanced cryptography called zero-knowledge proofs to scale Ethereum infinitely without compromising on security or decentralization. With a world-class team, a community of over 1M supporters across Twitter + Discord, and hundreds of millions $ in funding, we have abundant resources to accomplish the mission.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior People Operations & Analytics Manager to lead and drive operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making across our People function. You will work very closely with the Business Ops and People Ops teams, and collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and Legal to ensure seamless execution of projects.

This role requires someone who can balance high-level strategic thinking with detailed, hands-on execution. You’ll need to bring a strong business-oriented approach to People Operations, focusing on data accuracy, compliance, and impactful decision-making.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments, can work independently, and is comfortable driving major projects that impact the entire company. This role requires a strong focus on detail, logic/problem-solving, and execution.

What You'll Be Doing

Compensation/Token Subject Matter Expert: Become the expert on token pool planning, compliance, and allocations. Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, and external vendors on compensation and token strategy.
People Analytics & Operations Excellence: Develop and maintain people analytics dashboards, tracking key metrics like headcount, retention, and benefits usage. Lead strategic initiatives to improve People Operations processes.
Business & Finance Partnership: Work with Finance to deliver payroll, benefits, and cost analysis, including 401k reporting, benefits cost-benefit analysis, flexible time off analysis, etc.
HR Data Management & System Improvements: Maintain 100% data accuracy and integrity within HR systems (HiBob), ensuring efficient reporting and seamless compliance monitoring.
Policy Development & Benchmarking: Drive policy development on topics such as parental leave and offsite guidelines. Ensure alignment with the company’s long-term strategy through strong documentation and benchmarking.
EOR Provider Assessment: Lead the evaluation of external HR service providers (e.g., Deel, Toku) to optimize service quality and cost-effectiveness.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with leadership and various departments to ensure seamless communication and execution of people initiatives.

What We Look For In You

7+ years of demonstrated experience in People Operations & Analytics or a similar analytical & operational role
Ideally a strong understanding of compensation, token allocation, and compliance, ideally with experience managing token or equivalent equity programs (RTUs, RSUs, etc.).
Proficient in HR systems (HiBob) and data analytics tools, with expertise in developing and analyzing KPIs.
Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, high-growth startup/scale-up environments, ideally in remote or asynchronous setups.
Ability to independently identify operational gaps and implement data-driven solutions.
Proven financial and operational acumen, capable of managing payroll, benefits, and compensation analytics with a focus on driving business impact.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, methodical approach to policy development and benchmarking.
