The role will be responsible for the efficient execution of complex electronic assembly test and diagnostic activities in the plant. The role will be also supporting all the test equipment related maintenance activities and supporting the commissioning of custom, purpose built test equipment solutions to meet the over all buisness objectives within a mix of products ranging from low to high volume intrinsically safe products. The ideal candidate will have experience of NI equipment and software including C/C++, TestStand and LabView development, as well as a sound knowledge of PCBA and Final Product testing.

What You’ll Do

The role will be responsible for the efficient execution of complex electronic assembly test and diagnostic activities in the plant. Work with engineering department to define and develop cost effective testing strategies and techniques to be performed with respect to hardware and software modules within the system and to be the owner of the sustaining activities throughout the lifecycle of the product
Design, implementation and maintenance of test rigs suitable for the production test PCBs
Deploy procured test equipment effectively and efficiently into the manufacturing environment
Support capital investment plans to ensure all test solutions meet the ongoing Business needs
Creation of requirements specifications and robust statements of work against which suppliers can quote for the procurement of test equipment and software
Responsible for the regular review of all the test equipment hardware and software during every phase manufacturing, ensuring effective operation and maintaining production test procedures
The ability to write clear and unambiguous process and product documentation when ever it is necessary, and provide training to relavent production personals on all newly introduced test equipment
Ensuring all test equipment is compliant with relevant safety requirements


Qualifications

Degree level in a relevant field
At least 5 Years experience with Software and Hardware within Test Engineering


Skills

An understanding of electronic analogue and digital circuits with fault finding / diagnosis experience
Hardware skills within a range of test systems such as ICT, Flying Probe, HV and Final Product Testing
Programming skills within the Electronic Manufacturing Industry preferably using NI Teststand, LabView, C or C++, Labwindows CVI
Works well within a team, has good problem solving skills and time management
Sub-contractor supplier management
Experience with a range of test systems such as ICT, Flying Probe, HV and Final Product Testing
Avibility to develop and modify software solutions using NI Teststand, LabView, Ansi C, LabWindows CVI languages.
Supporting of diagnosis and remedial actions to facilitate product rework
Knowledge of SQL and MySQL databases
Active participation in a culture of continuous improvement, refining and defining procedures and processes to ensure good quality product meeting cost and time-to-market objectives
Ensuring the adoption of best practices
Demonstration of excellent problem solving skills. A Six-Sigma background would be valuable

What You’ll Do

We have a new exciting opportunity for a Data Center Application Engineer who will provide design assistance, value engineering, product and segment specific application support to the Projects, Orders and Quotations department, Country Sales Organizations (CSO), EPCs, Consulting engineers and Channel partners in the territory/market for electro-technical installations and enhance the value generated for customers.

This position is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the UK, Ireland, Netherlands or Germany. International travel will be required.

Responsibilities

Data Center Solutions: Design solutions using Eaton’s portfolio, focusing on MV switchgear and transformers.
Quotation Process: Ensure technical quality in quotations, interpreting customer specifications for competitive solutions.
Customer Engagement: Promote Eaton products with engineering consultants, end users, and contractors.
Pipeline Development: Support demand creation activities with business development managers.
Market Requirements: Drive product features and new product development based on market needs, evaluating risks.
Project Management: Lead technical evaluation and execution of multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery.
Technical Advice: Analyze faults and advise on solutions, collaborate with sales management, and write RFQs for non-Eaton items.
Documentation & Handover: Write specifications and technical documents, ensuring clean handover to relevant teams for technical compliance.


Qualifications

Data Center experience is a must
Segment insights & Application, electrical and mechanical Engineering, Calculation, Studies and Manufacturing methods. Insights on Commercial aspects of Project


Skills

Strong organizational, presentation, communication and time management skills
