Robert Half Technology are assisting a global banking organisation to recruit a Active Directory Infrastructure Engineer on a contract basis
Role
Active Directory Management: The Active Directory Infrastructure Engineer Will administer, maintain, and optimise Active Directory infrastructure, including Group Policy management, Domain Controllers, and DNS/DHCP configuration.
Legacy Systems Support: Maintain and support Windows Server 2002 and other Legacy server environments as required. Troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring minimal downtime and system stability.
Server Upgrade and Migration: Plan and execute upgrades from Legacy Servers to supported versions, ensuring continuity and alignment with company standards.
Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies for AD, including access control, encryption, and auditing measures to meet compliance requirements.
Automation and Scripting: Develop and use PowerShell scripts and other tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve complex server and AD issues, providing support to the IT helpdesk for escalation-level AD and Windows server problems.
Documentation and Best Practices: Create, maintain, and update detailed technical documentation for AD architecture, server configurations, and disaster recovery procedures.
Monitoring and Performance Optimisation: Continuously monitor AD and server health, optimising performance and proactively addressing potential bottlenecks or vulnerabilities.
Profile
Experience: The Active Directory Infrastructure Engineer will have a minimum 5+ years of experience as an Active Directory Engineer or in a similar role, with hands-on experience managing Windows Server 2002 and later versions.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies, and DNS/DHCP.
Strong experience with Windows Server administration, especially with Legacy Windows Server 2002 as well as modern versions.
Familiarity with PowerShell Scripting and automation of Windows administrative tasks.
Understanding of network concepts and protocols related to AD and server environments.
Preferred Certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Active Directory-related certification is a plus.
CompTIA Network+, Security+, or similar certifications would be advantageous.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical teams.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
