The Role As a Data Analyst at MAG, you’ll provide detailed analysis that is accurate, congruent and reliable, and ensures the information is easily available to users for direct use, or for integration with other systems. You’ll educate and train the business on the use of data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new forms and content for the purpose of analysis and decision making. You’ll ensure the BI team has a clear view of the key stakeholders across the business and have regular sessions with these areas to ensure we understand their problems as well as potential opportunities for data growth. You’ll conduct analyses of functional business processes and functional requirements and participates in the development of business cases in the support of process changes and/or Tech projects. You’ll work with key stakeholders, researching business problems and creating the relevant models that will enable the business to make key decisions.
What will make you successful? You’ll have solid data analysis experience alongside an understanding of project delivery methods including Agile and Waterfall, as well as an understanding of data governance and security within projects. You’ll need a deep understanding of a Visualisation Tool (we use Power BI at MAG but Tableau or Alteryx experience would also count). You’ll need experience of Data Modelling, Data Warehouse design, Data Cataloguing, SQL and Dashboards. It’s a given that you’ll have strong oral, written and presentation skills, great stakeholder management, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple complex projects at the same time.
