We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Settlement Analyst to join a dynamic team within a leading Energy client based in London. This is a hybrid role offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to key financial processes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Validate, reconcile, and process settlement data related to wholesale energy markets (electricity and/or gas).
Monitor and analyze discrepancies in trade and invoice data, resolving exceptions in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and market obligations
Liaise with internal trading, finance, and risk teams as well as external stakeholders such as counterparties and market operators.
Support month-end close activities and reporting related to settlements.
Provide insights to improve settlement accuracy and reduce operational risk.
Document processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Proven experience in settlement operations, ideally within the energy sector.
Strong understanding of UK energy markets (e.g., imbalance settlement, trading cycles, market participants).
Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas); knowledge of SQL or data analytics tools is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team in a hybrid environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Liaise with auditors and ensure that all the information required is produced and the audits are completed on time. Personal Profile Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CAANZ, CPA, ICAI, ICAS). Working knowledge of Lloyd’s accounting and reporting rules, UK GAAP, Solvency II. Prior experience working for a specialty insurer. Ability to identify and embed improvements to gain efficiencies across reporting.
