This is an interim role and the client will consider a 3 month fixed term contract or a daily contractor.
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Design and Product Developer to join the esteemed design team of a renowned British heritage brand specialising in premium retail. This individual will play a crucial role in shaping the brand, focusing on the development of sophisticated formalwear that blends classic elegance with contemporary trends.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the garment industry, coupled with a keen eye for detail and a passion for high-quality fabrics and finishes. They will be responsible for taking designs from initial concept through to final production, ensuring each piece meets the brand's exacting standards.
Roles and responsibilities
This role requires a proactive and organised individual who can effectively collaborate with internal teams, including design, technical, and merchandising, as well as external suppliers. They must be adept at conducting trend and market research, sourcing fabrics, and creating detailed technical specifications.
The person
They are looking for someone with a minimum of three years of experience in women’s tailoring design or a similar field, and a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related discipline. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Office is essential.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to manage critical paths, and a proven track record of resolving design and production issues efficiently. They will be joining a dynamic team within a prestigious brand, contributing to the development of a collection that embodies timeless style and exceptional quality.
