As part of our Edinburgh based team, you will work as a senior engineer and become an integral part of a feature team within our Customer Experience Lab evolving our Digital Channels (native mobile, web, Internet Banking).

What Will You Do?

Work as part of a self-organised engineering team to design and develop software features or services that are delightful and vital in our mission to help Britain prosper.
Be at the heart of delivery in your team building features with a passion for evolving best practices within your community.
Work with the product and engineering leads to achieve the vision and customer outcomes for your Lab, through writing well-factored and tested code.
Be curious about technology and understanding how things work. You'll influence positively demonstrating the right values and behaviours as we improve how we deliver.

What we need from you:

Experienced in Node.js or similar technology based API development.
Strong understanding and experience in JavaScript/React.js stack.
Experienced with modern engineering concepts and technologies such as Microservices, RESTful APIs, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins.
Good understanding of distributed system architectures.
Experience working with Data Streaming and Cloud based Database systems would be beneficial
Ability to write efficient and scalable software as well as experience with building performant systems.
Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively across engineering function to maximise inner-sourcing opportunities and reduce waste.
An advocate for quality who can support the Engineering team leveraging: CI/CD best practice, Pair Programming, TDD/BDD
Good analytical skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
Working in the private / public cloud domain at scale, primarily with LBG Private Cloud/GCP. Solving real world problems and being comfortable working in a complex regulated environment
