ReactWise is a software start-up located in Cambridge (UK) that offers powerful no-code software for optimizing chemical reactions. Using machine learning (ML) algorithms developed by the founders during their PhDs at the University of Cambridge, our software can significantly reduce process development time, bringing novel drugs to clinical trials much faster. Currently, the software is used in 12 pilot studies, including several of the largest pharmaceutical companies. Role Description
We’re looking for a junior/mid-level front-end engineer to join our small, fast-moving team in Cambridge. You'll work closely with our founders and engineers to build beautiful, intuitive user interfaces that help scientists run complex experiments more easily. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive, high-impact environment, with lots of ownership and mentorship.
Key responsibilities
Build responsive, user-friendly front-end components using React and TypeScript
Collaborate with designers and engineers to translate ideas and wireframes into functional UI
Contribute to design discussions and give input on improving user experience
Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code review
Test and debug front-end features across different browsers and screen sizes
Required skills
Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience building web applications with React and TypeScript (through work, projects, or coursework). Please link your GitHub account and/or portfolio on your CV.
Understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript, especially collaborative git workflows.
Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, startup environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Desirable skills
Flair/intuition for good UI/UX design.
Experience with developing React Single Page Applications (SPAs).
A basic understanding of relational databases.
