job Description::
To handle business queries received and see them through to resolution where possible, and when required, logging with appropriate 3rd parties.
Develop the ability to investigate complex data integrity issues using SQL and provide solutions, develop data fixes.
Troubleshoot production incidents and collaborate with third parties, developers to resolve and implement permanent fixes.
Monitor batch processing to ensure timely availability of business data escalating urgent issues requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate resources.
Maintain a vigorous process of logging updates in service requests (ServiceNow) and assigning issues to relevant support teams and external suppliers as required.
Ensure technical support documentation and KBs are maintained and kept updated.
Focus on continuous improvement always working to improve existing processes and enhance through automation.
Continually incorporate quality management, assurance, company security and best practices into all support areas to ensure services are delivered within agreed business requirements.
Ensure proper implementation of changes in accordance with company Change Management procedures and attend CAB when required.
Participate in Disaster Recovery testing, validate, and update recovery runbooks.
Participate in the on-call rota and support for applications, infrastructure and patching upgrades during weekends and as required.
Skills Required:
Proven experience in a similar role
Experience of service management (ITIL)
Experience with ServiceNow or similar
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong team player
A keen problem solver
Ability to communicate effectively, especially during incidents
Determined, self-motivated and resourceful to own tasks from start to finish
Demonstratable experience in Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL, SQL queries, Windows and Linux, scripting using bash or Python
Ability to plan and organise workload and learn quickly
Experience with scheduling tools such as Atomic / UC4 or similar
Advanced Excel / MS Word/PowerPoint
Experience:
Experience in financial service industry, ITIL foundation level or above,
Some experience with B-One bisam / factset and/or TLM Recs Smartstream, SWIFT, Informatica preferred
