About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled PowerStore, MetroNode, and Data Migration Consultant for a engagement. You will be responsible for the planning and deployment of a new storage environment across two sites, including the connection of existing servers and the migration of critical workloads.
Responsibilities:
Planning and Deployment: Participate in the detailed planning and deployment of a new PowerStore and MetroNode environment across two physical sites.
Plan and execute the connection of up to fifty (50) existing servers to the new Storage environment, including the cutover to newly provided Fibre Channel switches.
Develop comprehensive data migration plans for specified workloads.
Data Migration Execution: Execute data migrations according to the agreed-upon plans.
Migrate VMware Virtual Machines to the new PowerStore environment.
Migrate VM clusters utilizing Raw Device Mappings (RDMs).
Additional Planning & Troubleshooting: Provide additional migration planning expertise as required.
Troubleshoot any issues encountered during the deployment and migration processes.
Knowledge Transfer & BAU Enablement: Provide extended knowledge transfer to the end customer's IT team on the configuration and management of PowerStore, MetroNode, Fibre Channel, and vSphere.
Enable the BAU team to effectively manage and maintain the new storage environment post-migration.
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in planning, deploying, and migrating to PowerStore storage arrays.
Hands-on experience with MetroNode for high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Strong understanding and practical experience with Fibre Channel SAN environments, including switch configuration and zoning.
Extensive experience migrating VMware Virtual Machines.
Demonstrated ability to migrate VMware VM clusters utilizing Raw Device Mappings (RDMs) with Dell migration tools.
Solid understanding of vSphere configuration and management.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex storage and virtualization environments.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively transfer knowledge to technical teams.
Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively within a customer-facing residency role.
