Where you’ll work:
Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.

We're working to build and optimise credit risk and collections capability at OVO, with a particular emphasis on reducing the bad debt charge and delivering good customer outcomes.
This role in a nutshell:
Extremely exciting opportunity to work in a major, progressive utilities business working across credit risk and collections, where you will be able to make a real difference for customers.
As a Credit Risk Analyst in the Customer Balances you will be responsible for the effective management of key debt prevention strategies, processes, analytics and MI which underpin the Collections operation, allowing it to function, manage risk and drive reductions to debt balances whilst increasing revenue.
You’ll be working collaboratively with team members across customer balances and the wider business to provide data and insight that supports decision making in our credit risk and collections landscapes to improve our business performance and customer outcomes.
Your key outcomes will be:
Using SQL and Python to generate insights and support initiatives that advance the department strategy and reduce portfolio risk.
Building and maintaining Tableau and Looker dashboards to monitor trends, track performance against targets, and assess key performance indicators.
Developing credit risk insights to identify optimisation opportunities and support decision-making across all stages of the credit risk lifecycle.
Assisting in the design and development of commercial and credit risk models, setting up A/B tests, and supporting cost/benefit analysis to evaluate proposed solutions.
Reducing manual effort and improving efficiency through automation and process optimisation.
Solving business problems with a multidisciplinary approach and working in cross-functional teams.
Supporting data integration by building and maintaining data pipelines under the guidance of senior team members.
Collaborating with team members through peer reviews and adopting best practices to support team growth.

Have 1+ years of experience in Credit Risk Analytics, Data Science, or a similar analytical role, ideally within the financial services, utilities, or energy sectors.
Are highly numerate and analytical, with the ability to dig into data while understanding the bigger picture.
Possess strong SQL skills and are comfortable working with datasets, with some experience using Python or R for analytics.
Can build, interpret, and present meaningful data visualisations, while making logical business recommendations.
Are willing to develop presentation skills and build confidence presenting analysis to stakeholders.
Have a basic understanding of statistical concepts such as sampling, significance testing, hypothesis testing, and linear/logistic regression.
Are eager to learn and contribute to documentation and version control, ensuring your work is clear and reproducible.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment and are adaptable to shifting priorities.
Have an understanding of core programming principles such as data types, lists, arrays, control flow, and exception handling.
Have hands-on experience or a willingness to learn technologies such as Google Cloud, BigQuery, GitHub, Tableau, and Looker.
