ABOUT THE TEAM
As Head of Engineering - Experience Foundations, you’ll lead a growing team of Engineers and Engineering Managers, shaping strategy and roadmaps with the SVP & Head of Product. You’ll drive innovations in personalised financial experiences, reimagine solutions, and enhance mobile/web platforms for users in the UK, India, and Germany. Partnering with Product and Design, you’ll leverage data to rapidly prototype and deliver impactful solutions, while championing engineering innovation and aligning the team with a compelling vision for the future of personalised member experiences.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As Head of Engineering, you will be a technical leader, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of how Tide members experience our products. You’re a strategic leader who can set an engineering vision that aligns to product vision and drive incremental delivery. Managing the Engineering Managers (EMs) within the domain, this role is focused on technical leadership, architecture, and engineering strategy.

As Head Of Engineering You Will Be
Defining and driving the direction for Tide’s connectivity, personalization, and recommendation of products.
Leading the development of Tide’s design system, experience simulators, and information architecture.
Work across multiple business areas to effectively get things done through constructive collaboration and data driven decisions.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Business) to enhance member experience.
This is a technically hands on role. Getting directly involved in your architecture, providing hands-on technical guidance, ensuring best practices in software engineering, security, and system design.
Managing and mentoring engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
This role offers the opportunity to influence the entire Tide product portfolio, drive innovation, and shape Tide’s strategy as we scale globally.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a highly technical and strategic engineering leader with deep expertise in payments systems, fintech, and distributed architectures.
10+ years of engineering experience of delivering high-quality, customer-focused digital products
Expertise in front-end architecture and scalability
Experience in front-end development, preferably with Flutter, plus knowledge of modern frameworks, performance optimization, state management, and build pipelines.
Ability to translate strategic goals into a clear technical roadmap and effectively communicate the “why” behind technical decisions.

OUR TECH STACK
We use the latest iterations of Flutter and Dart with a modular architecture to build scalable applications. Our stack includes state management, dependency injection, and navigation tools to streamline development. We emphasize code generation, backend communication efficiency, and BDD testing. Monitoring, analytics, and CI/CD are powered by Firebase, DataDog, LaunchDarkly, and GitHub Actions for seamless deployment and reliability.
