The Package

The salary range on offer is £80,019 - £83,500 and benefits include company car or car allowance (£10,400 - £10,680 per annum), 20% annual bonus, 25 days hols ( Plus additional bank holidays) and 10% employer contribution pension, Private healthcare and Company Discount scheme

What will I be doing?

Responsibilities

As Head of Technical Engineering, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of our operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

Leading and developing a team of 20 engineers and technical managers, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation.
Overseeing multiple complex multi-million pound engineering projects, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget.
Implementing a national strategy for optimising engineering standards, outage implementation, and preventative maintenance activities across SUEZ’s Energy & Waste Treatment facilities.
Providing technical guidance and solutions to ensure operational efficiency, legislative compliance, and sustainability.
Supporting major plant outages, commissioning new facilities, and delivering technical improvements to enhance plant performance and increase OEE.
Collaborating with senior stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and align technical operations with business objectives.
Travelling up to 30% of your time to oversee projects and engage with teams across multiple locations throughout the UK.
Mentoring and developing a young team to work towards excellence and develop to be the best they can including graduate engineers and apprentices.

About The Role

What are the requirements?

We’re Looking For An Experienced Leader With

Proven leadership in managing and developing technical teams, from graduates to senior technical managers.

Technical authority in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, or Control & Instrumentation (C&I) engineering.

Broad engineering knowledge, with the ability to understand and influence across multiple disciplines beyond your core expertise.

Extensive operational experience, having worked across various teams and roles to develop a holistic understanding of plant operations.

Project management expertise, with a track record of overseeing high-value, multi-faceted engineering projects.

Flexibility to travel (approximately 30% of contracted time) to provide on-site leadership and technical support.

Educational background: Degree preferred but not essential. We also welcome applications from candidates with a time-served apprenticeship and 10 years of relevant experience.

The role in a nutshell: A freelance econometrician to own our Marketing Mix Models. You’ll iterate, and productionise MMMs in Meta Robyn (R) and Google Meridian (Python), then pressure‑test them with lift studies and hold‑outs. The goal: bullet‑proof budget recommendations our clients can take straight to the CFO. You’ll plug into our existing data engineering, media buying and creative pods to make measurement a competitive edge. Important info This is a flexible role in regards to days/hours, for the right person This is a 1 month contract full time or 3 month part time position, paying between £400 - £500 a day depending on experience and skillset What you’ll do: Day to Day Pull granular spend / KPI data from BigQuery, Snowflake, GA4, Meta & Ads APIs. Clean, transform and QA datasets; code lives in Git + CI. Fit Robyn (ridge + evolutionary) and Meridian (Bayesian + JAX) models; compare accuracy, stability and ROI outputs.
