Role purpose:
As a globally diverse function, we have a demanding transformation agenda which covers all areas of regulatory change, innovation, non-financial risk reduction and strategic investment. Markets Treasury is seeking a temporary to permanent Transformation Manager at Director level based in London. The Markets Treasury Transformtion Manager role is required to lead and drive the end to end project management of initiatives within the Markets Treasury Business Function.
Project & programme management roles lead change initiation, design and delivery and are accountable for successful delivery of both technology and business change programmes and ensuring benefits realisation. They operate at an executive level and engage and influence a wide spectrum of stakeholders and partners across HSBC.
The responsibilities will include:
Proactively lead teams to drive programme delivery, balancing scope, schedule, interdependencies, budget and risks. Take ownership of overall project plan and work with key contributors to agree their contribution
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the whole front to back value chain, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction
Understand stakeholders' objectives, direction, priorities and challenges, managing and addressing concerns and objections
Define resourcing responsibilities and schedules
Lead the establishment of effective programme controls and procedures
Drive the adoption of HSBC standards and work in alignment with the change framework at all times.
Manage non-financial and conduct risks inherent in delivery change into the operating environment by taking into consideration HSBC’s standard non-financial risks and conduct outcome
Drive the use of agile methodologies within technology teams (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean) in line with corresponding transformation frameworks at the bank
Set high expectations concerning quality and put in place and work within quality assurance processes
Be accountable for all elements of programme financial management, including headcount and software delivery capitalisation
Report progress, issues, dependencies and risks to steering committees / initiative leadership and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
Experience / Knowledge:
:
Strong project management skillset covering the whole project lifecycle from initiation to closure
Strong understanding of treasury and markets treasury with ability to translate complex concepts into programme documentation
Experience in delivering change in a markets environment with products such as Fixed Income, FX, Repo, Derivatives.
Good understanding of systems and data architecture in treasury, risk or finance environments, with ability to bridge the communication between business stakeholders and the technology team
Educated to minimum of degree level or equivalent professional qualification
Strong execution and problem solving skills
Ability to present information in a professional manner, including preparing documents for review by C-level audiences
Personal ownership of target and resolution of issues
Team player and able to manage conflict and conflicting priorities
Ability to provide direction to more junior colleagues
Ability to drive delivery in a changing landscape
Minimum 10 years of experience in financial services
Proficiency in a front office trading environment, including the regulatory and conduct expectations.
Project experience across both internal reporting and regulatory requirements, with experience of Finance or Risk systems and processes
Experience in change management, driven by IT systems implementation or enhancement, across a large organisation is a must
Experience in communications and providing information to senior stakeholders (mininum to Managing Director level) is a must
