A leading British retail brand is looking for a senior merchandise consultant to deliver a long-term plan for their core category products.

Working closely with Finance Directors, Category Directors, and Managers, the ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of retail or FMCG categories with a proven ability to create quantitative plans through a product lens.

Responsibilities:

Drive quantitative, category performance & product behaviour analysis to monitor and evaluate the performance of core categories, seasonal products, and new launches to develop a long term merchandising plan for the business.
Provide strategic recommendations on assortment planning, pricing, and promotional strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
Utilize data-driven insights to create robust, product-centric plans, ensuring alignment with market trends and consumer behaviour.

Profile:

7+ years of experience in retail or within well-known FMCG brands with a focus on merchandise planning, category management, or financial planning.
Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience in building long-term quantitative plans.
Expertise in product lifecycle management, category growth strategies, and seasonal trend forecasting.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

As Bioinformatician you will develop analytical pipelines and processes to manage large-scale –omics projects, especially focussing on whole-genome sequencing and whole-exome sequencing. Work will be largely in support of current projects to sequence genomes and exomes for all 500,000 participants in the cohort, and is anticipated to develop into other –omics work as projects develop. To maintain and document existing workflows, and integrate processes into the new UK Biobank Research Analysis Platform, a cloud-based platform developed with DNANexus to enable analysis of large-scale genomic data and the existing UK Biobank phenotypic resource. Responsibilities UK Biobank is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual to provide bioinformatic development and support for ongoing large-scale sequencing and imaging projects on 2 year fixed term contract. The main responsibilities will involve processing and analysing sequencing data and development of bioinformatics pipeline's for research use, including: Development of additional quality control procedures for whole-genome and whole-exome sequencing data Incorporation of existing algorithms for data processing into the UK Biobank Research Access Platform Development of procedures to derive phenotypic measures from MR and DXA imaging The post will be based at our modern offices Cheadle, although regular liaison with UK Biobank staff at the Big Data Institute (at the University of Oxford) will be required. The post-holder will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of programmers, statisticians, epidemiologists, data analysts, research and administrative staff and will report to UK Biobank's Senior Data Analyst based in Cheadle.
