This isn’t a blank-slate strategy role - the foundations are already in place. The focus now is on operationalising policy, managing working groups, and refining processes to ensure AI initiatives are governed pragmatically and in line with emerging regulation. Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and evolve the Responsible AI policy and framework
Manage the Responsible AI Working Group, including agendas, actions, and stakeholder follow-up
Support the risk assessment of AI use cases — particularly around GenAI-related concerns (e.g. hallucinations, data confidentiality, output handling)
Work cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Risk, InfoSec, and Technology to align governance activity
Keep an up-to-date AI use case inventory and support assessments of value and risk
Track and respond to external regulation (e.g. EU AI Act)
Support education and awareness activities around responsible AI internally
What They’re Looking For:
Experience in data governance, regulatory change, or business analysis within a complex or regulated environment
Understanding of governance structures and ability to translate frameworks into operational processes
Familiarity with risks around Generative AI
Strong communication skills, with the ability to structure discussion, engage stakeholders, and follow through on delivery
Detail-oriented, pragmatic, and well organised
Financial services experience
Bonus Points For:
Hands-on involvement in AI or analytics initiatives
Experience with GenAI tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude
Knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks: GDPR, ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act
This is a high-impact, visible role — perfect for someone looking to apply governance and policy expertise in a fast-evolving area with real business importance.
This is an initial 3-6 month contract on an inside IR35 basis but it is expected to extend well beyond this for the right person. The role is London based and requires you to work from the office 3 days per week. Rate negotiable for the right candidate dependent on experience.
