We are seeking a leader with experience in both large, enterprise technology companies, and Startups, who has successfully led high-performing sales teams, and go-to-market strategy. The ideal candidate will possess EMEA experience, with the capacity to continue scaling this high-growth business. This individual will be a known entity in the Start-up world, considered a visionary and thought leader. This leader can be based in either London or Luxembourg.

Key job responsibilities

The Director, EMEA Start-ups will be the single-threaded owner responsible for AWS’ startup customers across the EMEA region, leading a large multi-layered organisation that spans 20+ countries. This individual is responsible for leading commercial sales (inside sales and outside), demand and lead generation, account management, business development, solutions architecture, startup programs & product development, as well as operations and strategy.

Responsibilites include

Maintain a culture of Customer Obsession.
Influence senior executives across multiple functions and businesses.
Be an operator, with experience within a large MNC and capable of navigating a highly matrixed organization
Develop an overall vision and service roadmaps and identify future opportunities.
Drive strong revenue growth across all AWS services.
Methodically build AWS’ presence in the Start-up industry across EMEA.
Deliver the right thought leadership, service offerings and execution that will catalyze significant adoption of AWS and cloud computing.
Build a world-class sales, business development and Solution Architect team that collectively breaks new ground in efficiency and reach, be incredibly customer-focused, partner strongly with internal AWS teams, and consistently hit objectives.

About The Team

This growing organization currently numbers over 1000 people globally, over 400 people in EMEA, with continued plans to scale year on year.

Basic Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

Background of Executive leadership roles within large enterprise technology companies coupled ideally with some experience in the Start-up ecosystem.
Track record establishing rapport, building close relationships, and exhibiting Customer Obsession with C-suite level executives at some of the largest and most complex companies in EMEA.
Demonstrated success achieving business objectives.
Executive-level experience leading a large organization across multiple functions
Practical experience directly selling software products or technology services, and coaching sales reps and sales managers to do the same.

Startup Founder Experience

Direct knowledge of Start-up entities, ideally having held a leadership role in such entities.

Well-networked in the Start-up Community, with the ability to leverage relationships to expand AWS’ footprint in this customer segment.
Exhibits excellent judgment in business and people matters.
