Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Gateshead

Pay: £84 - £110 per day (Depending on Experience)

Location: Ashington

Start: ASAP

Contract: Daily Supply | Long-term

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step? GSL Education is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dedicated secondary school in Ashington . Your Role

Assist teachers in lesson planning and deliver pre-planned lessons.

Provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Lead small group interventions and 1:1 sessions to support learning.

Use de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies.

Support the personal care needs of students with complex physical requirements.

What You Need

Right to work in the UK.

Experience in SEN schools or Pupil Referral Units (PRUs).

HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (SEND training is desirable).

Strong emotional resilience and behaviour management skills.

Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to apply.
