Azure Data Engineer | Location: Remote | Day Rate: - £500-£575 a day (Inside IR35)
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in the creation of a brand-new data platform within the Microsoft Azure and Fabric ecosystem.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll work closely with both technical and business stakeholders, leveraging your expertise to design, develop, and optimise a high-performance data platform. This platform will be built to scale, incorporating the latest advancements in data intelligence while supporting strategic business objectives.
Experience Needed:
Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data tools (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure DevOps & Azure SQL).
Commercial Project experience with Microsoft Fabrics
Dimensional modelling expertise for analytics use cases.
Strong ETL/ELT development skills.
Python scripting experience for data automation.
Experience with CI/CD methodologies for data platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Build & Develop – Design and maintain a robust Azure-based Data Platform, ensuring performance, scalability, and availability.
Data Pipelines – Connect APIs, databases, and data streams to the platform, implementing ETL/ELT processes.
Data Integrity – Embed quality measures, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms.
CI/CD & Automation – Create deployment pipelines and automate workflows.
Collaboration – Work with stakeholders across Global IT, Data, and Reporting teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Futureproofing – Drive the evolution of the data platform, ensuring adaptability for new data sources, analytical models, and emerging technologies.

The next phase focuses on Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and Europe, with a targeted rollout set for August. Key Responsibilities This role will oversee the delivery of the new Chart of Accounts (CoA), a key foundation for the implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Cloud EPM systems. A key focus will be managing the delivery of Related Value Sets (RVS) across CoA segments, hierarchies, Cross Validation Rules, and Security Rules—building on existing work while working closely with finance teams to ensure everything is fully reviewed and ready for each phase of go-live. A critical aspect of the role will be ensuring data reconciliation across migrated platforms, with clear audit trails for external auditors. The role requires strong expertise in managing and configuring Oracle applications, ideally with formal Oracle training. Hands-on experience with Oracle EPM & ERP Cloud applications is essential, including Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (PBCS) and Financial Consolidation Cloud Service (FCCS). Experience with Enterprise Data Management Cloud Service (EDMCS) is a must. You will be the data expert across finance ensuring a seamless migration from old COA to new.
