SEN Teaching Assistant – Behaviour, Emotional and 1:1 Support
Location: Barton-upon-Humber, North Lincolnshire
Availability: Immediate or Easter term start dates
Salary: £83.33 – £95.00 per day
Contract Type: Both full and part time roles; term time only
GSL Education are currently seeking to appoint SEN Teaching Assistants to join our Special Education Needs (SEN) team at client schools located in Barton for roles starting right away; also in Easter term 2025. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals with acute ambition to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), allowing you to contribute to a positive learning environment for students who require additional support.
As a thriving SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored assistance to students with a range of learning needs, from Autism and ADHD to Severe Learning Difficulties. You will collaborate closely with both students and teachers, providing the support and guidance necessary to ensure every child can thrive and reach their full potential in their learning journey.
Role Overview
1:1 Support: Provide personalised support to students with SEN, focusing on promoting engagement and learning.
Classroom Assistance: Help facilitate classroom tasks, ensuring students with SEN remain actively involved in lessons.
Behaviour & Emotional Support: Aid students in developing social and emotional skills, promoting positive behaviour and independence.
Collaboration: Work with teachers, parents, and external agencies to assess student progress and provide feedback.
Applicant Attributes
Experience: Prior experience working with SEN students is highly beneficial but not essential.
Qualifications: A background in education or childcare is advantageous.
Passion: A genuine desire to help students with SEN and a patient, empathetic approach to their learning.
Communication: Strong communication skills are essential, particularly for working with students who may use non-verbal communication methods.
DBS Check:Enhanced DBS clearance is required, or you must be willing to apply for externally processed one, or through GSL Education (affiliated through uCheck).
