Are you an IT leader looking for an opportunity to develop your career towards IT Director / CTO level? Our client, a highly regarded professional services organisation, is seeking a Head of IT to drive their IT strategy, manage a talented team, and ensure seamless technology operations across multiple locations.
This is a visible leadership role that while initially at Head of IT level has no glass ceiling with our client actively promoting the opportunity to progress to an IT Director for the right candidate.
The Head of IT Role
Drive IT strategy and governance, ensuring business-aligned technology solutions.
Oversee security and compliance, working with external providers
Support the transition ongoing transformation projects and drive adoption of Power BI reporting.
Ensure IT operations run smoothly and efficiently, eliminating friction and enhancing user experience.
Lead a skilled IT team of 6, including support staff, in-house developer, and a data specialist.
Have autonomy and control of the IT budget circa £0.5m, ensuring effective vendor relationships and cost efficiency.
What You’ll Need
Proven experience in a Head of IT or IT Director role ideally within a professional services firm (wealth management, legal, accountancy, or similar professional services).
Strong strategic IT leadership, with a focus on business-aligned technology.
Hands-on expertise in IT infrastructure, security, and vendor management.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to work at board level.
A track record of leading IT teams, managing budgets, and delivering high service levels.
Familiarity with on-prem and hybrid IT environments—while cloud adoption is limited, efficiency and modernisation are key.
