Desktop Engineer - Inside IR35 - Onsite - 4 months
Are you an experienced Desktop Support Engineer looking for your next contract role? Hamilton Barnes are working with a leading UK energy company seeking a skilled professional to support the rollout of Intune across multiple desktops.
This is a six-month contract with a strong possibility of extension. The position requires five days per week onsite in Kent, working within a dynamic IT team to ensure a smooth and efficient deployment. If you have strong desktop support experience and a background in Intune deployment, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Upgrade Intune for users, ensuring seamless integration with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and other essential business applications.
Provide hands-on support during the rollout, troubleshooting technical issues and minimising disruption.
Work closely with internal teams to optimise the desktop environment and ensure all systems are fully functional post-upgrade.
Leverage Windows Autopilot and Copilot to streamline device provisioning and deployment, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new and existing users.
Assist with user onboarding and provide guidance on new system functionalities.
Maintain documentation and report on progress, issues, and resolutions.
What you will ideally Bring:
Proven experience in desktop support, with a strong understanding of Intune deployment and management.
Knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and other related applications, with experience in integration and troubleshooting.
Hands on experience with both Autopilot and Copilot.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to support end-users and work collaboratively with internal teams.
Experience in providing hands-on support during system upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Ability to document processes, track progress, and report on issues and resolutions effectively.
A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
