About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our client who are a FinTech organisation, where you will play a crucial role in managing our cloud infrastructure and ensuring optimal deployment of services. Your responsibilities will include:
Cloud Management: Taking ownership of and managing our cloud infrastructure, collaborating with engineering teams to identify and implement the most suitable cloud solutions and technologies.
Monitoring & Diagnostics: Overseeing our monitoring and diagnostics, working closely with engineering teams to achieve top-tier observability, alerting systems, service level objectives (SLOs), and cost attribution for our software ecosystem.
CI/CD Infrastructure: Managing the CI/CD infrastructure for our suite of products, ensuring streamlined and efficient deployment processes.
Technical Problem-Solving: Tackling complex technical challenges, making informed trade-offs to provide scalable and maintainable solutions swiftly.
Best Practices: Establishing and upholding best practices in financial operations (FinOps), infrastructure as code, and platform as a service (PaaS).
Performance Metrics: Developing and maintaining dashboards to track operational performance metrics, including costs per user, transaction costs, and baseline expenses.
Influence & Strategy: Influencing team strategies and engineering roadmaps through your expertise and insights.
Documentation: Writing and maintaining comprehensive documentation related to developer operations and the platform environment.
About You:
Cloud Experience: Proven experience with cloud technologies, specifically in utilizing Google Cloud and cloud-native architectures.
Containerization: Proficiency in containerization, with practical experience managing services deployed in Kubernetes environments.
Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code principles and experience using tools like Terraform or similar frameworks.
Scripting Skills: Knowledge of scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Ruby, with a knack for recognizing and capitalizing on automation opportunities.
Attention to Detail: A meticulous attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset.
