Yellow Bricks is hiring a Full Stack Developer for a startup that is rapidly scaling due to investment and new large client wins. The purpose of the role is to provide superior back-end expertise to a range of products that include building databases. As our client is a growing startup, we want a versatile person who can provide support at the front end and chat with customers to discuss projects.

The job is based in Birmingham, UK, you will be expected in the office 4 days per week.

We cannot accept any remote candidates.


Desired Experience
:5+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js, specialising in developing high-performance, production-ready services

3+ years of experience building client-facing applications using React.js, with strong expertise in front-end technologies, libraries, and UI/UX best practices.
2+ years of experience working with Express.js to develop scalable APIs and backend services.
2+ years of experience handling SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL, with a deep understanding of data structures, optimisation, and performance tuning.
Proven ability to design data-driven solutions, integrate multiple data sources, optimise queries, and solve complex challenges in service architecture.
Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with infrastructure engineers, software developers, and product managers.
Soft Skills & Professional Attributes: Leadership abilities, capable of guiding teams and driving projects to completion.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong customer and client-facing experience, with the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure in high-intensity environments while maintaining efficiency and composure.
Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to challenges.
Bonus Skills &
Experience: Hands-on experience with Nest.js for building robust server-side applications and APIs.
Familiarity with Next.js for developing server-side rendered React applications.
Experience writing complex SQL queries for data analysis and optimising query performance.
Experience in cloud-based development, particularly with Google Cloud or AWS services (S3, RDS, ECS) for enhanced deployment and scalability.
