My client based in London is looking for a Internal Audit Vice President will lead and shape the internal audit function at a leading hedge fund, with a particular focus on financial, operational, and IT audit. Drawing on significant experience within the asset management sector, the successful candidate will ensure the firm's internal controls, risk management, and governance frameworks are robust and aligned with best practices. This role demands technical expertise, especially in IT and data governance, alongside the ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organization.
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive risk-based internal audit plan that covers financial, operational, and IT processes.
Perform detailed IT audits, focusing on areas such as information security, data integrity, system controls, and technology-related regulatory compliance.
Assess the adequacy of cybersecurity measures, business continuity plans, and disaster recovery protocols.
Evaluate controls over key technology platforms and infrastructure supporting trading and operations.
Lead audits across functions including front office, compliance, and IT, ensuring risks are identified and managed effectively.
Provide actionable insights to enhance controls, operational efficiency, and data governance.
Collaborate with IT leadership and external specialists to address audit findings and enhance the technology control environment.
Prepare and present audit findings to the Audit Committee and senior management, with a focus on IT-related risks and recommendations.
Keep abreast of technological advancements and regulatory changes that impact the asset management sector.
Oversee and mentor a team of auditors, ensuring expertise across both financial and IT audit domains.
Experience and Qualifications:
Certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, CISA, or CISSP are highly desirable.
Extensive audit experience within asset management or hedge funds, with demonstrated expertise in IT audit.
Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, IT governance frameworks, and cybersecurity standards.
Experience auditing trading platforms and operational systems in a financial services environment.
Proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques to support audit processes.
