Job Description
This role is part of the PT department, supporting the "Live Well" strategy.
The Physical Development Support Officer (PDSO) will be responsible for managing the day to day related Health and Safety, including sports grounds & equipment, and establishment Adventurous Training/Challenging Activities equipment.
The PDSO will also support the administration of the establishment’s Unit Health Committee, including (but not limited to) the management of health and wellbeing information and data as appropriate.
The PDSO will:-
Provide advice and support to a range of Personnel.
Have a firm understanding and knowledge of building maintenance & management of estate compliance.
Conduct inspections and audits.
Conduct Risk Assessments and Incident Reporting and Investigation procedures.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, articulate, well-organised, and highly motivated individual to join the PT team. You will need to be an excellent communicator, a great team player and confident to you your own initiative to make effective decisions.
A good knowledge and understanding of general health and safety is essential. a must.
MOD Experience, knowledge of JSP's health and Safety and building control will be advantageous.

Please note this role is 37 hours per week, predominantly a face to face on site role. Requests to work flexibly will be considered, taking into account business needs.

This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
