Our mission is to create a seamless, secure, and innovative banking experience for our customers. We're looking for a Banking Service Tech Lead to help establish our foundation systems and lead our technical initiatives.
Role Overview
As the Banking Service Tech Lead, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining our core banking infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our banking systems meet regulatory requirements, security standards, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. This leadership role requires both technical expertise and strong people management skills to build and guide high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the technical design and implementation of our core banking systems using Golang or Ruby on Rails
Establish the foundation for our digital banking platform, including payment networks, account management, and transaction processing
Design and implement secure and scalable banking APIs following Open API specifications
Collaborate with compliance teams to implement robust KYC/AML systems and processes
Develop data reporting flows that meet regulatory requirements and business intelligence needs
Architect and implement financial treasury processes, FX exchange capabilities, and crediting systems
Guide the team in integrating with payment networks and banking partners
Ensure all systems meet banking regulatory requirements and security standards
Build, mentor, and lead engineering teams, providing career development and performance feedback
Drive engineering excellence through best practices, code reviews, and continuous improvement
Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and technical delivery
Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals
Represent the engineering team in executive and cross-functional meetings
Required Qualifications
8+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in financial technology
3+ years of people management experience, leading engineering teams of 5+ developers
Strong proficiency in Golang or Ruby on Rails
Proven experience building and scaling banking or financial services platforms
Deep understanding of banking operations, payment networks, and financial systems
Experience implementing KYC/AML solutions and compliance frameworks
Knowledge of data security practices specific to financial institutions
Experience with treasury management systems, FX exchange, and crediting systems
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and Open API specifications
Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native applications
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with global bank auditors and regulatory compliance teams
Knowledge of or experience integrating with banking core SaaS systems such as ThoughtMachine, Audax, or Temenos
Experience working with System Integrators (SI) on large-scale financial projects
Understanding of ISO 20022, PSD2, or other banking standards
Experience with real-time payment systems and card processing networks
Knowledge of blockchain or distributed ledger technologies for financial applications
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Background in data science or analytics related to financial services
Experience managing distributed or remote engineering teams
Track record of successful delivery in highly regulated environments
