Role Description
This is a contract remote role for a Financial Data Science Specialist. The Financial Data Science Specialist will be responsible for applying data science techniques to financial datasets, performing data analysis, and generating insights. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing large datasets, interpreting statistical results, developing predictive models, and providing data-driven recommendations.
Qualifications
Proficient in Data Science, Data Analytics, and Data Analysis
Strong Analytical Skills and expertise in Statistics
Experience with financial datasets and generating insights
Ability to develop predictive models and interpret results
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Experience working remotely and independently
Familiarity with financial markets and economic principles is a plus
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, or related field

We have a vacancy for a Senior Data Engineer who will have Technical ownership over First Rate’s data infrastructure, maintaining and continuously developing our data fabric. to own, develop and maintain our MS Fabric. The Role Technical Ownership of Data Infrastructure: Take full responsibility for the end-to-end architecture, management and scalability of our data infrastructure. Development of Data Fabric: Maintain and continuously enhance the data fabric, ensuring data flow, transformation and integration meet the business's evolving needs. Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with IT, MI and business units to understand and prioritise data needs while implementing technical solutions. Strong background in data engineering, design of database structures, data warehousing concepts, data modelling, schema design, ETL and data transformation. Well-versed in GitHub, Python, SQL, Spark and DevOps practices and tools, including CI-CD pipelines. Experience in implementing and managing data governance, security and privacy standards in a cloud environment. Proven track record of building scalable data systems and optimising them for performance and cost-efficiency. This is a great opportunity to work on a variety of projects, applying statistical techniques to deliver actionable insights for major clients. You’ll be an integral part of both the analytics and wider research teams, developing your skills in segmentation, driver analysis, and other advanced methodologies. THE ROLE As a Market Research Analyst, you will: Support the design and execution of research projects with an analytical component, such as segmentation and driver analysis. Clean and analyze survey data, producing anything from basic tables to complex data-driven insights. Work closely with internal teams to ensure the appropriate statistical techniques are applied to projects. Develop expertise in both standard and advanced marketing analytics techniques, with support from senior team members. Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
