About Zego
At Zego, we understand that traditional motor insurance holds good drivers back. It's too complicated, too expensive, and it doesn't reflect how well you actually drive. Since 2016, we have been on a mission to change that by offering the lowest priced insurance for good drivers.
From van drivers and gig workers to everyday car drivers, our customers are the driving force behind everything we do. We've sold tens of millions of policies and raised over $200 million in funding. And we're only just getting started.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to support our growing insurance business in a co-insurance environment. This role involves managing communication across co-insurers and internal stakeholders, analysing complex data, and providing reports to our co-insurers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, insurance operations, and financial performance metrics, along with excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate conversations between co-insurers and Zego.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards for insurance and financial operations, focusing on co-insurance arrangements. This includes claims analysis, underwriting performance, premium forecasts, and consumer duty metric
Stakeholder Communication: Act as the key point of contact for BI-related discussions with co-insurers, ensuring clarity and alignment on data-driven insights, performance metrics, and contract management. Facilitate regular communication and meetings with external and internal stakeholders
Financial Modeling: Collaborate with finance and data engineering teams to create financial models that provide insights into revenue, costs, and profitability under co-insurance arrangements. Ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and KPI monitoring
Data Management: Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure accurate and timely ingestion of data from key sources (e.g., claims management systems, co-insurers, and financial systems). Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across entities
About You
Proven experience in BI analysis within the insurance and finance sectors
Advanced proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau) and data analytics platforms
Strong understanding of insurance metrics (claims, premiums, loss ratios, underwriting performance) and financial reporting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience managing relationships between co-insurers and internal teams
Strong attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach
Nice to have:
Experience working in a co-insurance environment, including communication with multiple insurers
Familiarity with insurance-specific systems such as claims management platforms (e.g., Sharedo) and finance software
Experience in data modeling, SQL, and working with large datasets
Experience in financial reconciliation processes and insurance accounting
