Since our early days, the development of piston systems and cylinder components has been a core competence at MAHLE. Because we understand the interaction of engine components, we can deliver optimal solutions to our customers. Our products are used around the globe in two-wheeled vehicles, passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and large engines.

As a Test Engineer we will ask you to perform hands-on testing of automotive plain bearings supporting R&D projects, benchmarking and production validation. Assist with new test development to meet future requirements, from concept to validation, including design, project planning and build.


Your Contribution:

Ensure robustness of test data on dedicated test rigs and metrology systems.
Perform testing, assess samples post-test, interpret and report results.
Communicate, and maintain, performance data, based on valid statistical evaluation.
Implement improvements to working practises, document changes and write work instructions and standards.
Supervise and advise Technicians and Operators as appropriate.
Any other duties defined by the Head of Projects, Development & Testing.


Your Skills and Experience:

A strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical & hydraulic systems (essential)
Experience in testing of specialised engineering product, minimum 3 years (desirable)
Experience of using metrology equipment (desirable)
Experience with Excel, including programming
Degree in an automotive- or mechanical- engineering or equivalent (essential)
Statistical knowledge

Produce Solution Design documents for review before implementation including detail on security considerations, testing required and potential impacts across the stack. Use JavaScript unit and end to end test frameworks to ensure a high level of coverage across the platform and applications. Take an active role in peer code reviews and code deployment via CICD pipelines. What you’ll need: Strong experience using, and good working knowledge of TypeScript Extensive experience developing applications using React Good knowledge of HTML/CSS (3+ years) Experience using JavaScript unit & e2e test frameworks (eg.
